Magazines/Print

Most magazine design will have a structured layout. A number of fonts will be used for heading, sub headings, tag lines and finally body copy. These, together with pictures, create interest and excitement. Not as often, you will find that some magazines will be designed around a certain look and feel of the article, rather than keeping it as a whole. This type of layout is not often used.

More than meets the eye.

Magazine layout is not all about placing copy and pictures, but the ability to paginate according to advertisers needs. Advertisers pay for their space and depending on the contract, may wish to be placed near or next to a specific article that is featured. This, together with different sized ads, becomes an intricate puzzle, as you move the pieces around to have the layout aesthetically pleasing as well as keeping the client happy!
